Why Swan?

There are different ways to travel. You can choose to hop on a donkey, grab a Sherpa and head to the nearest mountain in search of the next high. Alternatively, you can board a private jet plane, find an exclusive island complete with sun, sand, and a personal butler, then relax on a lounge chair for weeks on end.

In between, there are all sorts of ways to explore the world. Not just the mode of transportation – planes, trains and automobiles – but where you choose to go and how you choose to experience it.

When we started this blog, we didn’t want to count any of that out. We’re up for adventure – come on Sherpa, let’s make that mountain trek – and if you’ve got a private island, we’re up for the pampered trip too. While most of our travel experiences can be found somewhere in between, we’re always open to new adventures.

When we went to determine what we should name the site, we wanted to capture all of that. Enter U.K. colloquialism. So why “swan”? Because, “to swan” means to travel in a relaxed and casual way. And hey, that’s what we’re doing. Swanning here and there. And sharing it with you along the way.
