Breakfast in Seattle

neon at Pike Place market

As I’ve mentioned before, I love bakeries. An acquaintance of mine mentioned she and her husband were heading west to Vancouver, Seattle and Portland and I was reminded of my trip to Seattle last year. I used to go regularly as a kid, as my Dad was working on his masters degree in Bellingham, just up the road, between the US/Canada border and Seattle.

Although similar to Vancouver, the Emerald City has its own allures. I spent my first morning at Pike Place Market and immediately was drawn to this bakery for breakfast. I noticed the market had plenty of neon signs and I took a lot of photos as I munched on my warm sweet cinnamon bun, and then headed to another stall for a juice smoothie and then ambled along to the original Starbucks. Its a low-key, relaxed space, and I can see why so many people would come here for their caffeine fix. Breakfast should always be this way – a casual grazing of the many tempting offerings.
