On My Back (but in my heart as well)
I didn’t mean it … I really didn’t. When I complained about the Gibraltar monkeys, I didn’t think it would end this way. Then, I heard this.
A rogue group of Gibraltar monkeys. Breaking into hotel rooms, running havoc on the beach. Drinking too much, shooting heroin, taking jobs as hired hit men (hit monkeys?) to support their nasty habits. Okay, I made those last three up, but this is still serious stuff - if I’d known it was in the works, I would never have shared the story of my bar brawling monkey-types, and added to the cause. Obviously, the crime spree only escalated after I left.
Perhaps a little time would scare them straight. But the death sentence? It seems slightly extreme.
Photo: The Gibraltar apes, looking content before the massacre. Is that baby now part of the fugitive ring, being hunted down by local authorities? Will I ever know what becomes of him? November 2003 - LV.

Poor monkeys. You would think they would be able to think of a better solution.
